About Dr. Glazener

Dr. Leighanne Glazener grew up in Central Texas. Upon completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin, she was awarded a military scholarship to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then served for eight years in the Air Force achieving the rank of major. After leaving the Air Force, Dr. Glazener maintained a private practice in San Antonio for over ten years. She and her husband purchased a business in the coastal bend in 2004, prompting her eventual move to this area and join CCWC in 2007. Two main reasons led Dr. Glazener to choose the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology. The first is motivated patients. “I find women are very interested in their health and are motivated to maintain good health—particularly during pregnancy—but at every age.” The second reason is this field provides the unique opportunity to practice both office medicine and surgery. Communication is an important skill for Dr. Glazener. She enjoys the education process and “explaining things in terms women can understand”. Dr. Glazener and her husband, Lee Roy, have two adult children. She enjoys many interests including gardening, reading, travel and playing with her two grandchildren.
